Drowning Aid Tips
ASB and St John - Working Together

Drowning

When a patient drowns your safety is paramount. Ensure you do not become a victim yourself.

Drowning kills many New Zealanders every year. You can help by knowing what to do.

  • Remove the patient from the water safely
  • If not breathing, commence CPR
  • Call 111 and ask for ambulance

To test your knowledge and learn the basics of giving First Aid, why not try our free fun online programme at everydayhero.org.nz?
