  • How to use an AED

While having an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is important, having people trained to use it is equally as important.

This course is designed for any group who has, or may have, access to an AED. This is a hands on course to allow participants to work with an AED and includes the use of an AED in CPR situations.

The use of an AED is an important addition to CPR and evidence shows that using an AED can greatly improve the survival chances of a patient in cardiac arrest.

Using an AED is simple as the machine "talks" to you and guides you through the things you need to do. This course provides the opportunity to use an AED with a manikin as part of the whole CPR process. The purpose of using an AED is explained along with the steps of CPR for an adult patient.
